The School of Arts, Languages and Literatures proudly boasts of being the oldest and most esteemed school at the University of Kashmir, standing as a beacon of linguistic and literary heritage.

Offering a diverse range of courses in both classical as well as modern languages including Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, English, Hindi, Kashmiri, Urdu, French, German, and Russian; the school also houses the departments of Linguistics, Philosophy, Music &  Fine Arts and the Iqbal Institute of Culture and Philosophy.
